When the wise minds of the Soviet Union built the largest fish farm complex at the time in the 1980 s, they failed to predict that their own knowledge would be too short for it to succeed, and the project would stop short. Today, the fish farm is reborn in the care of a modern and experienced team that treats fish farming sustainably and does so with real care.
Basically, the DIV 'ZIV' nursery enhances excellence by growing rainbow trout directly. They are well known in western cuisine, being rich in antioxidants, proteins and valuable Omega-3 fatty acids, as well as not for nothing in the world, it is the presence of these trout that suggests water purity.
We are the only farm in Latvia where fish grow in ultra-pure salt water from the deep well.
In its spare time, the farm is also working on the historic revival of the Baltic salmon fish breed, which we no longer find on store shelves. As well as believing, we know and prove through the works that fish can be grown without growth stimulators and antibiotics. These and other efforts mark the farm's sustainable view and the approach based on our local natural treasures.
